DO I NEED TO TAKE ASPIRIN WITH FOOD?
Some people find that taking medications with food may help reduce stomach irritation. If you continue to have stomach irritation, please stop use and talk to your doctor.
HOW MUCH ASPIRIN SHOULD I TAKE?
Each Bayer® Aspirin product has a different formula, so dosing information varies depending on which product you’re taking – and why you’re taking aspirin.
For pain, read each product Drug Facts label carefully and follow the label directions.
For helping to prevent another heart attack or clot-related (ischemic) stroke, talk to your doctor before you begin an aspirin regimen or modify your doctor-directed aspirin dosage. Aspirin is not appropriate for everyone, so be sure to talk to your doctor before you begin an aspirin regimen.
If you are already on a doctor-directed aspirin regimen, talk to your doctor about the dosage that is right for you for pain relief.
WHY MUST I TAKE ASPIRIN WITH A FULL GLASS OF WATER?
Aspirin should be taken with a full eight ounces of water to ease swallowing and facilitate absorption of the aspirin.
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE SMALL GRAY CONTAINER IN THE ASPIRIN BOTTLE?
The small gray container is called a desiccant. Desiccants help absorb any moisture in the bottle. Do not consume the desiccant.
Please be aware that you should keep the desiccant in the bottle even after you first open the bottle. Keep the cap closed to help keep moisture out of the bottle and away from the tablets. Please see packaging for storage directions.
WHY IS THERE NO COTTON IN THE BOTTLE?
We place cotton in some bottles of Bayer® Aspirin to help minimize breakage of the product during shipment from the manufacturing plants to the store shelf. This is especially important for the enteric-coated tablets, as any chip in the coating can affect the tablets ability to bypass the stomach undissolved. You can remove the cotton once the bottle is opened.
We stopped putting cotton in some Bayer® Aspirin formula bottles because our studies indicated that removing the cotton would not cause breakage of these products.
WHY IS BAYER CHEWABLE LOW DOSE 81MG ASPIRIN ONLY AVAILABLE IN 36-COUNT BOTTLES?
Because this is a flavored product, we are limited to the 36-tablet size for safety reasons. If a child were to open the package and consume all of the tablets, in general, 36 tablets are considered a non-toxic amount. However, in case of overdose, get medical help or contact a poison control center right away.
Please be aware that we offer two other low dose aspirin alternatives in larger count sizes:
- Aspirin Regimen Bayer Low Dose 81 mg in 120-count, 200-count, and 300-count bottles
IS ASPIRIN SAFE?
With a 120-year track record of safety and efficacy, aspirin is one of the most extensively studied pain relievers in history. Bayer® Aspirin is safe and effective for pain relief when used according to label directions. If you have any questions about whether aspirin is right for you, your condition or the medications you are taking, please talk to your doctor.
IS IT SAFE TO TAKE EXPIRED ASPIRIN?
Aspirin that’s reached or passed the expiration date on the package may no longer be safe or effective for use as indicated. Please discard any expired product appropriately.
ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS FROM TAKING ASPIRIN?
Aspirin is safe and effective when used as directed. Each person’s particular condition is unique. Please call your doctor first if you have any questions about whether aspirin is right for you to use. Please read all label directions, instructions, and warnings. If you experience any side effects from taking aspirin, stop taking aspirin immediately and contact your healthcare provider right away.
INGREDIENTS
WHAT DOES “SAFETY COATING” OR “ENTERIC COATING” MEAN?
Enteric coating is a delayed-release safety coating that provides added stomach protection. It is designed to allow the aspirin tablet or caplet to pass through the stomach to the small intestine (duodenum) before dissolving.
This delayed release coating means that it will take longer for the aspirin to be absorbed. For this reason, products with enteric coating are not recommended for quick pain relief or use during a suspected heart attack. Enteric coated aspirin is most often used by patients who are on an aspirin regimen under their doctor’s supervision or recommendation.
Aspirin is not appropriate for everyone, so be sure to talk to your doctor before you begin an aspirin regimen.
HOW MUCH GLUTEN DOES IT CONTAIN?
We don’t add gluten to our products. However, we can’t guarantee they are 100% gluten free since our products are produced in a facility that manufactures and packages items that may contain gluten.
DOES BAYER® ASPIRIN CONTAIN CAFFEINE, AND IF SO HOW MUCH?
Bayer® Back & Body contains 32.5mg caffeine in each pill. Bayer® Rapid Relief contains 65mg caffeine in each sachet. No other Bayer® Aspirin products contain caffeine.
Not intended for ingestion or intake during suspected heart attacks.
